The Cinelli Colombini family’s philosophy has always been that of marrying state-of-the-art technology with tradition in order to improve all of its products without ever altering its classic character..

In the “Riserva”, everything is extraordinary, but nothing is excessive. It is a Brunello that respect the character of elegance typical of the Barbi farm, demonstrating at the same time wine of great potency. It is a selection done amongst the best barrels and it is produced only in the best harvests. The aging is of five years of which three in barrels: the refining in a bottle is of at least six months.
ROSSO DI MONTALCINO D.O.C.
This red wine was born from the same grape as that of Brunello, the Sangiovese cultivated in Montalcino, and it comes from those young vineyards that give off those aromatic and elegant wines but it is not so tannic and full-bodied. Even though it will never become a Brunello, it is still however, a great wine of the same family and area, but with an easier approach.
MORELLINO DI SCANSANO D.O.C.G.
This is the Maremma area’s most classic wine, the finest expression of this region rich in history, culture and landscape. Here the Sangiovese grape is traditionally called Morellino, and as opposed to the rest of Tuscany it is particularly well-rounded and rich in tannin.
The earliest document of the sale of Chianti in the Fattoria dei Barbi archives is dated 1817. Montalcino is part of the territory where Chianti can be produced. Here and in vineyards rented in other areas of Chianti Senese, Fattoria dei Barbi grows the grapes for this wine in order to keep alive a centuries-old tradition.
BRUSCO DEI BARBI I.G.T. TOSCANA ROSSO
This red wine is the result of years of researches on the fermentation of grapes from Montalcino, done in the Sixties and Seventies by Giovanni Colombini. This wine is very versatile and approachable, ideal as an everyday companion to be shared around a table with family and friends. It is produced mostly with Sangiovese, enhancing the typical fruity aspect of this varietal when it is drunk young.
ROSSO DEI BARBI I.G.T. TOSCANA ROSSO
As the production of Brunello di Montalcino is strictly limited, some of our vineyards of Sangiovese are not within the D.O.C.G. of Brunello. These vineyards are our experimental field for different clones of the same variety and from them we produce the Rosso dei Barbi, an agreeable red table wine, which, in its simplicity, retains the same style of all our wines.
BIRBONE I.G.T. TOSCANA ROSSO
The Birbone Toscano is a red wine with a strong personality, made to show how much a traditional wine can be so appealing in modern times. A nice blend : Sangiovese and Merlot. It shows a great elegance and structure a persistent finish. Perfect with roasted and grilled red meats, mature cheeses, game and casserole dishes.
GRAPPA DI BRUNELLO
What is grappa? A product obtained from the distillation of vinaccia (marc or pomace), the skins of the grapes after the must has been poured off. The term grappa is exclusive, i.e., it can be applied only to the marc distillate produced in Italy. Grappa di Brunello is another innovation introduced by Fattoria dei Barbi; in 1970 Giovanni Colombini was the first winemaker in Italy to understand grappa’s potential and, to showcase it as it deserved, he decided to distill solely the marc from his prestigious Brunello grapes. The result was Grappa di Brunello: a well-rounded, aromatic, elegant and intense grappa.
GRAPPA DEI BARBI
Typical Tuscan Grappa, austere and powerful. It is distilled from the pressed skins used for making Brusco,Birbone and Bianco del Beato.
Grappa dei Barbi is a light-colored grappa, not aged, with a dry, pronounced taste. It has a decidedly Tuscan character, with lively, sharp overtones of grape and floral notes, very flavorful.
Which reminds the autumnal atmosphere of the harvest.
This grappa rewards those who know how to wait. It is produced only in exceptionally good years and aged in small oak casks for at least eighteen months before bottling. This patient wait is rewarded by a richly aromatic grappa with a bouquet of herbs and spices. On the palate it is complex, rotund, with a velvety aftertaste.
GRAPPA DI CHIANTI
Montalcino is also an area where Chianti is produced, and Fattoria dei Barbi has more than two centuries of tradition making this wine. Thus it was natural to complete the line of Barbi grappas with a Chianti grappa, a more traditional, austere distillate but with a clear Tuscan flavor.
Our extra virgin olive oil
In Tuscany we are producers of real, pure, very characteristic olive oil, and to obtain it we take good care of our trees and select our cultivars carefully. Many people think our hills look more like gardens than farmland. This is because the sunlight, which is just the right strength, penetrates everywhere and defeats the diseases caused by dampness and cold temperatures.

The olives are gathered by hand with patience and resignation while they are still green so that the wind does not “steal” them from us and the frost doesn’t “burn” them.
FATTORIA DEI BARBI EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
This oil comes from the Barbi olive groves at Montalcino; 90% of the trees are the prized Corregiolo (Frantoio) variety, while the rest are pollinators and Leccino trees. The oil has a lively green color with gold highlights, an intense fruity aroma, a moderately piquant tang and a slightly grassy aftertaste. It is perfect with typical Tuscan and Mediterranean dishes and fabulous drizzled fresh on soups, pasta, and on toasted bread to make bruschetta.
