Fattoria dei Barbi editions
After having started an educational path dedicated to the history of Montalcino and Brunello with the creation in 2006 of the Community Museum of Montalcino and Brunello inside the Fattoria dei Barbi, he wanted to deepen the study and recovery of archival documents with the creation in 2018 of the publishing house that publishes books – both in Italian and in English – dedicated to the economic and social history of the Montalcino area and its culture, including food and wine.
Stefano Cinelli Colombini’s goal is to make known the ‘true’ history – more than the legends – of Montalcino and Brunello, thus inviting to conceive Brunello not only as a commercial product, however valuable, but also as a cultural heritage, symbol of a unique identity, created by men who have always known the character of the land where the vineyards grow, who pass on the secrets of winemaking and use technology without forgetting the traditional cellar methods. The uniqueness of the Brunello phenomenon is given by the sum of some factors that many other wines may have, such as product quality, modern technology and the ability of producers, plus others that only a handful of other lands in the world have, such as prestige, history, memory.
