| We are proud to share that Wine Spectator, one of the world’s most authoritative and influential wine magazines, has awarded 97 points to our Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore DOCG 2021. This follows the 97-point rating awarded to our Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2020, once again confirming the quality of Fattoria dei Barbi’s wines. “Our Brunello Vigna del Fiore has always been a symbol of elegance, and we are proud that Wine Spectator has recognized the qualities that make this wine such a refined expression of Tuscany,” says Stefano Cinelli Colombini, owner of Fattoria dei Barbi. According to Bruce Sanderson, Senior Editor at Wine Spectator: “This supple red is defined by its alluring fruit flavors of macerated cherry, strawberry, peony, earth, iron and tobacco. Fresh and invigorating, with intensity midpalate, a firm structure and a lingering, resonant aftertaste. Not showy but impressive from beginning to end. Best from 2029 through 2048.” First produced with the 1981 vintage, Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore comes from a single 5.7-hectare vineyard, one of the oldest on the estate, located in the southernmost part of Fattoria dei Barbi. It is the Brunello that best expresses our winemaking philosophy: a wine of remarkable balance, depth and precision, faithfully reflecting the unique character of its vineyard and the terroir of Montalcino. |
