It is with great joy that we share the 97-point score awarded to Fattoria dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2020 by Wine Spectator, one of the world’s most influential wine magazines. “We are proud that Wine Spectator awarded 97 points to our Brunello Riserva 2020, reaffirming the ‘Second Best Wine in the World’ recognition our Brunello Riserva 2016 received three years ago,” says Stefano Colombini Cinelli, owner of Fattoria dei Barbi
According to Bruce Sanderson, Fattoria dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2020 “is an expressive red. This Brunello reveals strawberry, cherry, earth, underbrush, and flinty mineral flavors. It tightens up while building toward a long, spice-tinged finish, energetic in character and finely balanced. Best from 2029 through 2045.”
Fattoria dei Barbi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva has great body intensity, complex and developed aromas, capability for long aging. In the “Riserva”, everything is extraordinary, but nothing is excessive. It is a Brunello that respects the character of elegance typical of the Barbi farm, demonstrating at the same time wine of great potency. It is a selection done amongst the best barrels and it is produced only in the best harvests. The aging is of five years of which three in barrels: the refining in a bottle is of at least six months.
